The EADMC was created to enhance the musical aspect of life in the parishes of the Eastern American Diocese. A number of initiatives are planned, all toward the goal of supporting church musicians in their work of serving the Lord and His Church. Among projects currently planned or under discussion are continuing education and training for choirmasters and readers through diocesan workshops and conferences, support of musical activities for children and youth, and the development of a resource clearinghouse. The EADMC is eager to serve all church musicians of our Diocese.

The Eastern American Diocesan Music Commission (EADMC) was founded in the Spring of 2009 with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion. Discussed at the first meeting of the newly formed Diocesan Council during the Diocesan Assembly of Great Lent 2009, its creation was a response to a proposal initiated by its first Chairperson, Elizabeth A. Ledkovsky. Per the Metropolitan’s subsequent ukase, the founding members also include Priest George Johnson, and choir conductors Jared Brewer, Yuri Petcherkin, and Eugenia Temidis.
