Howell, NJ: The Conclusion of Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov's visit to the Eastern American Diocese

On Monday, March 8, Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov returned to the diocesan center in Howell, NJ from Holy Cross Monastery. That night, on the eve of the feast of the First and Second Findings of the Holy Head of St. John the Baptist, Fr. Artemy led the Festal Matins in St. George’s Church. A special joy was present during the service – the kamilavka of St. John of Kronstadt arrived from St. Seraphim of Sarov Church in Sea Cliff, NY.

On Saturday, March 6, His Grace, Bishop George of Mayfield, led the All-Night Vigil with the bringing out of the Cross in the main church of Holy Cross Monastery. His Grace was co-served by Fr. Artemy, monastery administrator Igumen Seraphim (Voepel), and the monastery clergy, in the presence of a multitude of the faithful.

On Friday, March 5, Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov and Hiermonk Alexander (Frizzell; resident of Holy Cross Monastery) arrived in the town of Middlebrook, VA, where the honored guest was greeted by the parishioners of All Saints of North America Church, and a bountiful dinner was prepared for all in the parish hall.

On Thursday, March 4, Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov, accompanied by Hieromonk Alexander (Frizzell), visited the American capital, Washington, DC. The rector of St. John the Baptist Cathedral, Archpriest Victor Potapov, led a tour of Washington and some of its cathedrals for his guest.

Mayfield: The Lenten Retreat and Pastoral Conference concluded

On Wednesday, March 3, upon completion of the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts, a farewell banquet and official closing of the conference were held in the parish hall of St. John the Baptist Cathedral. Farewell addresses were delivered by diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, Archpriest George Larin, Archpriest Victor Potapov, Archpriest Wsewolod Drobot, and cathedral dean Archpriest John Sorochka.

His Eminence was co-served by Their Graces, Bishops George of Mayfield and Jerome of Manhattan.
