Jackson, NJ: Bishop Jerome led the funeral of Archpriest Boris Kizenko

On Sunday, August 29, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York, visited St. Vladimir Memorial Church of the Millennium of the Baptism of Russia, in Jackson, NJ, in order to bid farewell to Archpriest Boris Kizenko. His Eminence prayed at Fr. Boris’ coffin and then performed a memorial litiya.

On August 27-29, divine services for the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos were served in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign, reports the cathedral’s official website. The All-Night Vigil on August 27 and the Divine Liturgy on August 28 were led by Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, vicar bishop of the Eastern American Diocese.

On Sunday, August 29, His Grace George, Bishop of Mayfield, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Christ the Savior Church on the occasion of its patronal feast day, the Translation of the Image "Not-Made-By-Hands" of our Lord Jesus Christ from Edessa to Constantinople. During the Liturgy, His Grace tonsured Christopher Lepourte a reader, ordained him a subdeacon, and then elevated him to the diaconate.

On Friday morning, August 27, on the eve of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, one of the senior clerics of the Eastern American Diocese, Archpriest Boris Kizenko, peacefully passed away. Fr. Boris was a longtime cleric of St. Vladimir Memorial church in Jackson, NJ. On Tuesday, August 31, His Grace Jerome, Bishop of Manhattan, will serve a Liturgy for the Departed at 8:00 AM, followed by Fr. Boris' funeral at 9:30 AM.

Baltimore, MD: Bright days at the Holy Transfiguration Church

On Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd of August, our modest church in Baltimore received prominent guests. The church glittered in its festive white garments, magnificently adorned with a multitude of beautiful and fragrant flowers. At 1:00 Saturday afternoon, Archimandrite Athanasy (Mastalski) arrived from Philadelphia, bringing with him the holy myrrh-streaming Icon of Saint Anna, mother of the Holy Theotokos.
