Kiev, Ukraine: Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishops visit the Holy Sites of Ukraine - 02/05/15

On Thursday, February 5, a group of archpastors of the Russian Church Abroad, including Bishops George of Mayfield and Nicholas of Manhattan, vicars of the Eastern American Diocese, traveled on pilgrimage from Moscow, Russia, to Kiev, Ukraine.

American Choir receives Grammy Award for CD of Russian Orthodox Music - 02/13/15

The forty-two-voiced choir, based in the city of Austin, the state capital of Texas, which consists of top-level choral singers from all over the United States, has been paying a lot of attention to the repertoire of the Russian Orthodox Church. The parish Sisterhood of St. Seraphim Memorial Church in Sea Cliff, NY, headed by Elizabeth Mikheev, is holding a collection for aid for refugees of the humanitarian catastrophe in the Donets Basin ("Donbass"). Over $5,000 was collected by the feast of Christ’s Nativity, and was passed on to the Svyatogorsk Lavra of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

On the evening of the first day of Great Lent – Clean Monday, February 23 – His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, led Great Compline with the reading of the Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City.


Wayne, WV: At Holy Cross Monastery, Bishop George leads First Week of Great Lent - 02/23/15

The divine services on the First Week of Great Lent were led by His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop George of Mayfield. The morning cycle of services, combined with the monastic readings from the works of the Holy Fathers, lasted almost eight hours each day.
