Directive from His Holiness Kyrill, Patriarch of Moscow & All Russia - 01/02/15

In preparation for the great and radiant feast of Christ’s Nativity, His Holiness Kyrill, Patriarch of Moscow & All Russia, issued a directive, in which he blesses churches to celebrate the Divine Liturgy every year on the very day of the feast with open Royal Doors.

On Friday, January 16, St. John of Kronstadt Parish School at "Inexhaustible Chalice" Church will hold its Nativity Yolka. The parish’s children’s theater will perform a play entitled "The Twelve Months," based on the story of the same name by Samuil Marshak. The holiday event will also include carols and Christmas poetry.

Nyack, NY: Holy Protection Church’s Parish School holds Nativity Yolka - 01/11/15

On Sunday, January 11, the parish Russian School at Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY, held its annual Nativity Yolka, organized with joy and gaiety by the efforts of the school’s students, teachers, and parents. The play, based on the Russian folk tale "Prince Ivan & the Gray Wolf," was put on by the students with a light and joyous humor.

Washington, DC: First Annual "Tatiana" Benefit Ball held to support St. John the Baptist Cathedral - 01/23/15

Under the patronage of His Excellency, Russian Federation Ambassador Plenipotentiary to the United States Sergey I. Kislyak, and his wife Natalia Mikhailovna, the ball was organized by the cathedral youth. On Saturday evening, January 31, the eve of the Sunday of the Publican & the Pharisee, with the blessing of His Holiness Kyrill, Patriarch of Moscow & All Russia, His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, led the All-Night Vigil in Moscow’s Holy Epiphany Cathedral in Yelokhovo.
