Liberty, TN: Archpriest Gregory Williams has reposed in the Lord

On Wednesday, September 28, Archpriest Gregory Williams reposed suddenly in the Lord at age 75. His passing saw an immediately outpouring of testimonies bearing witness to his love for all those around him.

Born in April 23, 1941, Fr. Gregory was the son of William and Mabel Lee Williams. In 1980, he was ordained to the diaconate and priesthood by Bishop Gregory Grabbe. Over the course of his service to the Russian Church Abroad, he founded St. John of Kronstadt Press in Liberty, TN, which saw the publication of a full English-language Menaion, yearly liturgical calendars, and much more. Fr. Gregory also toiled for many years as a missionary in the nation of Haiti.

Father Gregory is survived by his Matushka Anastasia; his children (including his son, Priest Matthew Williams (rector of St. Tikhon’s Church in Bristol, VA), and daughter, Matushka Rachel Marie Rose); his brother, Archpriest Chad Williams (rector of St. Alexander Nevsky Memorial Church in Richmond, VA); and nephews, Deacons Nathan and Anthony Williams (clerics of the same).

The editors of the diocesan website express their sincere condolences to the entire Williams family. Memory eternal to the newly reposed Archpriest Gregory!
