Methuen, MA: Metropolitan Hilarion leads Patronal Feast Day of St. Xenia Church

On Wednesday the 23rd and Thursday the 24th of September, the feast of the glorification of Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, performed an archpastoral visit to Methuen, MA, and led the divine services for the patronal feast day of St. Xenia Church.

At the All-Night Vigil on Wednesday night, the First Hierarch was co-served by parish clergy: rector Archpriest Michael Crowley, Priest Constantine Desrosiers, and Deacon Alexander Doohovskoy, as well as Protodeacon Nicolas Mokhoff (cleric of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City, accompanying His Eminence).

The following morning, the above-mentioned clergy were joined by Archpriest Spyridon Schneider (rector of St. John the Russian Church in Ipswich, MA), Archpriest Chad Williams (rector of St. Alexander Nevsky Church in Richmond, ME), Archpriest Archpriest Brendan Crowley (rector of St. Nicholas Church in Enfield, CT), and Priest John Malcom (rector of Holy New Martyrs Church in Norwich, CT).

During the reading of the hours, Metropolitan Hilarion ordained Reader Cyril Gregoire a subdeacon for Holy New Martyrs Church. Upon completion of the service, he presented a diocesan gramota to Reader Robert Stauffer, the parish’s canonarch and assistant choir director, for his many years of service to the parish.

After Liturgy, a bountiful luncheon was served by the sisterhood in the parish hall and outdoors.
