New York City: Holy Fire to be brought to U.S.

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, the Synodal Chancery, with the support of the St Andrew the First-Called Foundation, will have the Holy Fire brought from the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem to New York.

The Holy Fire is scheduled to be greeted at 12:05 PM on Pascha Sunday, April 16, at JFK Airport

At 2:00 PM, the Holy Fire will be ceremoniously greeted by the clergy and the airport and taken to the Metochion Church of the Mother of God "Inexhaustible Chalice" in Brighton Beach in time for Paschal vespers, where it will be distributed to the faithful.

At 3:00 PM, the Holy Fire will be brought to St. Seraphim Memorial Church in Sea Cliff, Long Island, for Paschal vespers.

At 5:00 PM, the Holy Fire will be brought to the Synodal Cathedral of our Lady "of the Sign" in Manhattan, where His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, and the cathedral clergy will ceremoniously greet it, after which hierarchal Paschal vespers will be performed.

The Holy Fire will be available to parish rectors all of Bright Week. Advance notification is requested, and rectors are asked to come themselves or send a representative to receive the Holy Fire and disseminate it to their parishes.
