On February 17, the Sunday of the Publican & the Pharisee, with the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Virgin Intercession Church in Glen Cove, NY, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy.

Concelebrating with His Eminence at Liturgy was the parish clergy: rector Archpriest Alexandre Antchoutine, Abbot Photius (Oulanov), and Deacon Serguei Mikhailov, as well as Protodeacon Vadim Gan (cleric of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City).

Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Archbishop Gabriel delivered a sermon on the Parable of the Publican and the Pharisee. After the service, a luncheon was served in the parish hall for the clergy, parishioners, and guests.

At one time Bishop of Manhattan, Archbishop Gabriel served at vicar of the Eastern American Diocese from 1996 to 2008. His Eminence recently visited the East Coast to take part in the hierarchal consecration of Bishop Luke of Syracuse at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY, on February 11-12.
