On May 12, the Sunday of the Holy Myrrh-bearing Women, His Grace Luke, Bishop of Syracuse, paid an archpastoral visit to the Church of the Entrance into the Temple of the Holy Virgin in Jamesville (near Syracuse), NY, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy.
Concelebrating with His Grace at Liturgy were Archpriests Nicholas Tkatschow (parish rector) and Michael Taratuchin (rector of St. John of Kronstadt Memorial Church in Utica, NY), Hieromonk Anatoly (Zilin; cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY), Priest John Malcom (rector of Holy New Martyrs of Russia Church in Norwich, CT), Protodeacon Nicholas Drobot (cleric of the same), and Deacon Andrei Psarev (cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery).
At the Little Entrance, with the blessing of the ROCOR Synod of Bishops and for his many years of pastoral service, Bishop Luke awarded Fr. Nicholas Tkatschow the right to wear the second pectoral cross.
Upon completion of Liturgy, the Eastern American Diocesan vicar delivered a sermon on the subject of the Holy Myrrhbearers, and then congratulated everyone with the feast, as well as Fr. Nicholas on his well-deserved award.
After the service, a festal luncheon was offered in the parish hall.
