"From Washington to the Diasporan Lavra:" St. John the Baptist Parish’s Pilgrimage to Jordanville - 11/01/15

The trip entered the history of our parish community as the 17th annual pilgrimage to the "Lavra" of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. The purpose of the pilgrimage was to pray at the grave of Brother Jose Muñoz-Cortes, custodian of the myrrh-streaming Montreal-Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, who was murdered in Athens in 1997

Newark, NJ: Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan leads Patronal Feast of Our Lady of Kazan Church - 11/04/15

On Tuesday the 3rd and Wednesday the 4th of November, the feast day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, led the All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy for the patronal feast day of Our Lady of Kazan Church in Newark, NJ.


Philadelphia, PA: Metropolitan Hilarion leads Patronal Feast of Joy of All Who Sorrow Church - 11/06/15

On Friday, November 6, the feast of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow," Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York paid an archpastoral visit to Joy of All Who Sorrow Church in Philadelphia, PA, and celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the parish’s patronal feast day.


Atlanta, GA: Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan performs Archpastoral Visit to Joy of All Who Sorrow Parish - 11/08/15

On Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th of November, Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, vicar of the Eastern American Diocese, paid an archpastoral visit to Our Lady "Joy of All Who Sorrow" Church in Atlanta, GA, where he blessed its cemetery chapel and led the celebrations in honor of the parish’s patronal feast day.


New York City: Metropolitan Hilarion celebrates Liturgy in Synodal Cathedral, leads first American Gathering in Memory of Priest Daniel Sysoev - 11/08/15

Passaic, NJ: Bishop Nicholas leads Patronal Feast of Sts. Cosmas & Damian Church - 11/14/15

On Saturday, November 14, the feast day of the Holy Unmercenaries and Wonderworkers Cosmas & Damian, Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, visited Sts. Cosmas & Damian Church in Passaic, NJ with the wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God, and celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the parish’s patronal feast day.


New York City: Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan leads Liturgy & Panihida in Synodal Cathedral - 11/15/15

On Sunday, November 15, Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, vicar of the Eastern American Diocese, celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City. A mixed choir of 40 singers performed the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom by P.I. Tchaikovsky, under the direction of Peter Fekula.


Haiti: Priest Gregoire Legouté reposed in the Lord - 11/17/15

On Tuesday, November 17, Priest Gregoire Legouté, cleric of the Haitian Mission of the Eastern American Diocese, reposed in the Lord. He was 53 years old. He is survived by his Matushka Rose, and their two daughters, Anastasia and Chrissy. Memory eternal to the newly reposed Priest Gregoire!


Haiti: Priest Gregoire Legouté laid to rest - 11/26/15

On Thursday, November 26, Priest Gregoire Legouté, cleric of the Russian Orthodox Mission in Haiti and rector of the parish of Ven. Moses the Black in Fontamara, was laid to rest in Port au Prince, Haiti. His funeral was served by Priest Jean Chenier-Dumais...


Jordanville, NY: Holy Trinity Seminary to participate in "Giving Tuesday" - 11/28/15
