Russian New Year’s Concerts to be held in New York City

On Sunday, December 31, and Monday, January 1, the Grammy-nominated Clarion Choir, working with the Patriarch Tikhon Russian-American Music (PaTRAM) Institute singers, will continue the tradition of performing Russian sacred choral music on New Year’s Eve and Day.

Choral masterpieces will be performed under the batons of Maestro Steven Fox (artistic director of the Clarion Choir) and Maestro Peter Jermihov (artistic director of the PaTRAM Institute).

The evening’s program will consist of Russian sacred music by such composers as Rachmaninoff, Sviridov, Chesnokov, Ledkovsky, and Sander, and include an extraordinary work by Rachmaninoff's mentor, Alexander Kastalsky, "Memory Eternal."

With its cornerstone laid in 1868, the venue for the concerts is the stunning, Gothic Revival-style Church of the Resurrection, the oldest church structure on the Upper East Side, at 119 East 74th Street, New York City (between Park & Lexington).

Concerts on both days will be held at 5:00 PM. Tickets for Sunday, December 31, and Monday, January 1, can be purchased online here. General seating is $35, Orchestra $50, and Orchestra Prime $75.
