Charlotte, NC: Appeal from Reigning Mother of God Parish toward New Church Building

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal."

– Matthew 6:19-20

Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ!

We appeal to all who are not indifferent and with love to the Lord and neighbors dream of a spacious temple for all of us.

For the first time in many years, we are at the turn of building our long-awaited building, where we will offer prayers to the Lord for our forgiveness and salvation, pray for the health and longevity of our loved ones and relatives, as well as for the repose of those who have already departed to the next world, to offer the Holy Bloodless Sacrifice of Jesus Christ (celebrate Liturgy), to receive the Holy Gifts (Holy Communion), to wash away our sins and receive the grace of God into His glory, unto salvation and the good health of our souls and bodies.

We will baptize our children and grandchildren, our friends and acquaintances who have converted to Christ, and those whom we do not yet know, but for the salvation of anyone whom God wills.

As you understand, for the construction we need a loan from the bank in the amount of $300,000 dollars. The bank set us a number of conditions; if fulfilled by the end of 2019, we will be able to receive this loan. One of these conditions is stable monthly accumulation in the bank account of our donations.

We estimate that if each parishioner donates $150 a month, we can prove to the bank our creditworthiness and ability to repay the loan.

We understand that, of course, all incomes are different and there are different life circumstances. Therefore, we cordially ask everyone to pray for God’s help to our parish in obtaining a loan, and also ask to respond in a sacrificial feat. The Holy Hierarch Tikhon of Zadonsk says: "If you have much, give much; if you have a little, give a little: but do this from the heart…" The Holy Apostle Paul reminds us: "He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver" (II Corinthians 9:6-7).

Please, if possible, contact everyone, people in social networks and contact platforms (Facebook, WhatsApp, Odnoklassniki, etc.) and do not be ashamed and do not be afraid to ask for help in charity and prayer. For the Lord said: "…Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in Heaven. But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in Heaven."

United by the single desire to build our church, with attention and love, we treat the credit history of our parish, so that with God's help we will be given the necessary credit for construction.

Because of our modest income, we ask all parishioners who have the opportunity to make donations using checks written in the name of the parish of the "Reigning Icon of the Mother of God". This will help banks to track our inflow and will serve as evidence when reporting to the tax authorities and getting a loan. Those who prefer donations in cash are welcome to do so unto the glory of God. You can also set up an automatic payment via PayPal – link on our website here (site in Russian) or directly on PayPal.

Thank you in advance to all who respond to our call for sacrificial assistance.

May our gracious Lord Jesus Christ bless all and may His grace be with us!

With love in Christ Jesus,

Parish rector Archpriest Alexander Logunov
Archpriest Alexander Stepanenko
