On Sunday, August 18, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Transfiguration Church in Baltimore, MD, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy on the eve of the parish’s patronal feast – the great feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
Concelebrating with His Eminence at Liturgy was Archpriest Ion Barbus.
At the Little Entrance, Vasile Bruma was tonsured a reader. The parish choir sang prayerfully.
Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Metropolitan Hilarion delivered a sermon on the subject of the approaching great feast, and then presented a diocesan gramota to long-time parishioner Alexander Tuggucci. Mr. Tuggucci owns his own construction firm, by which he was been able to help the church with the tremendous work of rebuilding the church house, which had long been suffering from damage and disrepair. Despite all of the obstacles, he was able to diligently overcome them, and ultimately donated all of his labor and expenses to the church.
After the service, an abundant luncheon was prepared for all.
