On Sunday, August 25, His Eminence Longin, Metropolitan of Saratov & Volsk, and His Grace Nicholas, Bishop of Manhattan, concelebrated Divine Liturgy in Holy Protection Church in Saratov, Russia.

Joining the hierarchs were clerics of the Saratov Metropolitanate and visiting clergy.

Present in the church for the divine service was the wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God.

Singing at Liturgy was the joint male choir of the U.S.-based Patriarch Tikhon Russian-American Music (PaTRAM) Institute, the Moscow Representation Church of Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra, and the Saratov Hierarchal Choir, under the direction of renowned conductor Vladimir Gorbik

In his remarks, Metropolitan Longin thanked the guests from abroad and expressed joy that many citizens of Saratov came to pray at Liturgy, of whom a large number received the Holy Mysteries. He presented Bishop Nicholas a panagia. In turn, Bishop Nicholas noted the service that day gives one a chance to reflet on the catholicity of the Church: in attendance were people from all around the world, praying and singing. He gifted residents of Saratov a copy of an icon of the Holy New Martyrs of Russia, the original being located in Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY
