On Thursday, October 31, the eve of the feast of Righteous John of Kronstadt, the parish of St. Xenia Church in Methuen, MA held its annual fall festival.
By God’s grace, the strong rain and winds of earlier in the day stopped at the beginning of the event, so the children were able to have the outside games and activities that were planned. The festivities paused at 5:00 PM for a moleben to St. John, asking his blessing on the children and the community.
A wonderful "chili bar" dinner followed. Cupcakes provided by Elena Rodzianko and Katia Pekar were the dessert of choice for the children, who competed for first dibs. Bingo in the basement and other activities followed, culminated by a fire pit outdoors and s’mores for all.
The parish especially thanked Meghan Nettleton, who organized the activities and provided the dinner, and all those parents and adults that helped to make it a memorable evening for all.
