On Bright Thursday, May 6, the feast of the Holy Great-Martyr and Trophy-Bearer George, clergy and faithful gathered at St. George Cossack Church in Howell, NJ to celebrate the parish’s patronal feast day.

On Bright Wednesday evening, parish rector Archpriest Serge Lukianov officiated the All-Night Vigil, co-served by clerics of neighboring St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral: Priest Anthony Williams, Protodeacon Paul Drozdowski, and Deacon Dimitry Lisan.

The following morning, the above-mentioned clergy were joined at Divine Liturgy by Archpriests Boris Slootsky (cleric of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral) and Paul Ivanov (rector of Holy Myrrhbearers Church in Brooklyn, NY), Abbot Arseny (Manko; rector of Sts. Cosmas & Damian Church in Passaic, NJ), and Archpriest Serge Ledkovsky (deputy rector of St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ).

The day was warm and sunny, and upon conclusion of Liturgy, a procession was held around the church.

After the service, the members of the Kuban Cossack Voisko organized a festal luncheon in the Cossack Hall, while the Voisko's Ataman Alexander M. Pewnew led tours of the Cossack History Museum, located in the hall next to the church.
