On Friday, December 3, the eve of the great feast of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos, the myrrh-streaming Icon of the Mother of God "Softener of Evil Hearts" began its visitation to the Eastern American Diocese. On the first Sunday of this visit to the American land, December 5, the icon visited St. Nicholas Church in Palm Coast, FL.
Parish rector Priest Vladimir Kaydanov celebrated Divine Liturgy, co-served by parish clerics Priest Theodore Stavru and Deacons Lev Opie and John Kern.
Joining parishioners at the divine services were pilgrims from Daytona Beach, St. Augustine, Orlando, St. Petersburg, Jacksonville, and other cities of North Florida.
Liturgy concluded with a moleben and anointing with holy myrrh from the wonderworking image of the Mother of God.
The parishioners and guests then shared a festal luncheon.
On Wednesday, December 8, the Leavetaking of the feast of the Entry of the Theotokos, a moleben and akathist were served, followed by a formal farewell for the icon.
