New York City: On Sunday of the Cross, Bishop Nicholas celebrates Liturgy in Synodal Cathedral

On March 27, the third Sunday of Great Lent, dedicated to the Holy Cross, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City, co-served by: cathedral dean Archpriest Andrei Sommer, Priest Pavel Rusakoff (cleric of Our Lady "The Inexhaustible Chalice" Church in Brooklyn, NY), and Hierodeacon Panteleimon (Jigalin; diocesan cleric).

Praying in the altar at Liturgy was Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad.

The Synodal choir sang marvelously under the direction of conductor Vadim S. Gan. At the midpoint of Great Lent, parishioners came to pray and commune of Christ’s Holy Mysteries.

Upon completion of Liturgy, Bishop Nicholas thanked everyone for their joint prayer, and addressed those present with a sermon.

The cathedral sisterhood then invited the clergy and faithful to a lenten luncheon.
