On September 4, the 12th Sunday after Pentecost, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada paid an archpastoral visit to St. Andrew Stratelates Cathedral in St. Petersburg, FL, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy. His visit was timed to coincide with celebrations of the parish’s patronal feast day, which had taken place on September 1.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were parish rector Archpriest Igor Chitikov and parish and visiting clergy. Many parishioners of the church and faithful from other parishes gathered for the service. Most of the worshippers present communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries.

Upon completion of Liturgy, Archbishop Gabriel congratulated all of the communicants and delivered a sermon on the Sunday Gospel reading.

The service concluded with a procession, and the day wrapped up with all those present being invited to a festal luncheon.
