On Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th of November, with the blessing of His Eminence Nicholas, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, Western American Diocesan vicar Bishop Theodosius of Seattle paid an archpastoral visit to St. Saint Luke the Blessed Surgeon Church in Pompano Beach, FL, where he officiated the Resurrectional All-Night Vigil and celebrated Divine Liturgy.
Concelebrating with His Grace were Archpriest Yaroslav Lutoshkin (parish cleric), Archpriest Leonid Kalinin (rector of St. Clement Pope of Rome Church in Moscow), Priest Mikhail Mikhailenko (cleric of St. Vladimir Church in Miami, FL), and Deacon Stefan Stoyanov (diocesan cleric).
The liturgical hymns were sung by the parish choir under the direction of Katherine Lukianov.
During the Augmented Litany, a special prayer was read for the restoration of peace in Ukraine.
After the Prayer behind the Ambo, Bishop Theodosius consecrated a new reliquary, then addressed the faithful with a sermon.
Upon conclusion of the service, on behalf of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad and rector of the parish, Metropolitan Nicholas, Bishop Theodosius was greeted by Fr. Yaroslav and, in memory of the notable occasion, presented him with an icon of the patron saint of the parish, the Holy Hierarch Luke of Simferopol.
His Grace warmly greeted the pilgrims, and expressed his gratitude to the clergy, singers, benefactors, brotherhood and sisterhood of the parish, thanking them for the warm welcome.
Interaction with the clergy and parishioners continued over a meal prepared by the brotherhood and sisterhood of the parish.
