On Saturday, October 21, St. Tikhon Church in Blountville, TN, will host a one-day liturgical music workshop, led by Synodal School of Liturgical Music faculty member Laryssa Doohovskoy. Participants will be guided in the process of forming a children’s choir at their parish.

During the workshop, organizers will discuss where to start: identifying participants and developing a program based on age groups. What musical concepts are important to address? What pieces of music in the liturgical cycle are conducive to helping young singers to be involved? Where can one find resources? Most importantly, how can we foster a love of the liturgical art of singing?

Sessions will begin at 9:00 AM and conclude at 4:00 PM. Lunch will be provided.

Although there is no fee for the workshop, participants that are able are asked to contribute to help cover costs. Register online here.
