"While so many churches in the world are being destroyed, becoming part of this one being created is a most precious gift to behold."
Please allow me to share a small story of great joy and express deep gratitude to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for granting St. Nicholas Church in Palm Coast (Bunnell), FL the blessing of a bigger space.
For over ten years of serving in our little storefront, we have witnessed many miracles, the biggest of them all being the growth of our parish in the last few years. In such a growing spirit reflected in the people's fervent desire for salvation, we began to overfill. During a winter visit of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God, His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas, gave us blessing and his encouraging archpastoral words, inspiring us to make the leap. Thank you, dear Vladyka!
Half a year later, we witnessed prayers of the Theotokos come to life as the space next door became available. As walls came down in rubble and dust, spirits and more prayers were lifted in gratitude. While so many churches in the world are being destroyed, becoming part of this one being created is a most precious gift to behold. Foremost, we thank our Lord, because verily all ROCOR churches are His!
It was a miracle for us. Construction took over two months of intense work with the help of dedicated parishioners. Everyone came together with devotion to make the church a space for worship in the shortest time possible. Glory to God, we are continuing renovation with no service interruptions and thank all who serve in this church and all of you who continue to extend your prayers and loving support.
A traditional iconostasis in the style of St. Andrew Rublev is being made right now. May any help you can offer be blessed by the prayers of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. And there is so much more to be accomplished in the ongoing creation of this sacred Orthodox space. The most important one, I believe, is in our heart. O Lord, help us make it a beautiful place worthy of Thy dwelling!
With love in Christ,
