With the blessing of Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York, Saint George Classical Academy, a co-educational school for pre-K through 7th grade, is excited to announce its opening September 4, 2024, at 4 Georgetown Road, Boxford, MA. Employing a rigorous classical approach which emphasizes the seven liberal arts, The Academy will guide students as they learn to think critically, write beautifully, speak eloquently, and pursue an integrated life in service of God, family, and community. Students at The Academy will explore the riches of the ancient Christian Faith centered in the Eastern Orthodox tradition, the enduring great works of Western Civilization, and the wondrous natural world on a beautiful seven-acre campus and throughout the North Shore.
Head of School Juliana Schneider Joyce, a member of St. John the Russian Church in Ipswich, MA, brings over 20 years of teaching, curriculum development, and administrative experience to The Academy, and recently completed an apprenticeship with the CiRCE Institute to deepen her knowledge of classical education. Prior to Saint George Classical Academy, she worked as a teacher and administrator in some of the most highly ranked public school districts in Massachusetts. Having been blessed to grow up with the faith as a daughter of an Orthodox priest, Mrs. Joyce is thrilled to integrate her extensive professional experience with her Christian faith as Head of School: "I look forward to nurturing the formation of our children’s souls, their sense of joy in learning, and their rigor in pursuit of wisdom and virtue." Mrs. Joyce leads a faculty of accomplished teachers as they share their love for learning, commitment to personal and professional growth, and their faith with students.
Saint George Classical Academy has launched a grassroots "100 people give $1K" fundraiser in order to support the launch of the school, and asks for the support and prayers of the faithful.
