On Tuesday, September 10, members of ROCOR’s Haitian Mission joyfully celebrated the patronal feast of the Parish of St. Moses the Black (Paroisee Saint Moise le Noir) in Fontamara.
In light of the current lawless situation in the country – including threats of being kidnapped and held for random, as well as ongoing government operations to dislodge local groups of bandits ‒ the faithful were afraid that the feast might not take place if the priest were unable to find a way to the church. Glory to God, parish rector Archpriest Jean Chenier-Dumais was able to make it to the church, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy and communed the faithful.
Believers prayed fervently for Fr. Jean’s safety and thanked God for His benevolence.
