On Friday evening, December 6, the Synodal Choir held a concert entitled "Your Soul Shall Rejoice" in honor of the tenth anniversary of the episcopal consecration of His Eminence Nicholas, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York. The proceeds of the concert were collected to benefit the restoration of the Synodal headquarters.
Attending the concert were members of the Synod of Bishops, clergy, cathedral parishioners, and many guests of the local neighborhood, some visiting an Orthodox church for the first time.
The Synodal Choir, under the tactful direction of Vadim S. Gan, sung a masterful collection of liturgical hymns from the hierarchal Divine Liturgy, comprised of such classical composers as Kastalsky and Lvovsky and such contemporary émigré composers as Ledkovsky and Konstantinov.
The over 200-strong audience delivered gracious applause for the exemplary concert.
A reception was held in the Synodal Hall by G&B Events, where interaction with clergy, choristers, and guests continued.
