On Sunday, December 8, the Leavetaking of the great feast of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY. His Eminence celebrated Divine Liturgy in the convent’s St. Seraphim Cathedral, co-served by convent clerics: Archpriest Alexander Fedorowski (cathedral dean), Archimandrite Siluan (Lembei), Priest Artem Siss, and Deacon Alexey Pnev.
The choir sang the divine service under the direction of Alla Generalova. Praying at Liturgy were the sisters of the convent led by Abbess Makaria, as well as a multitude of pilgrims. Christ’s Holy Mysteries were communion with 2 chalices.
In his sermon, Archbishop Gabriel spoke about the importance of the leavetaking of the feast of the Mother of God’s Entry into the Temple.
Following the luncheon Archbishop Gabriel held a talk with the faithful to answer their questions about Orthodoxy, spiritual life, and navigating the secular world in which we live.
