On May 4, the 3rd Sunday of Pascha, that of the Myrrh-bearing Women, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Myrrhbearers Church in Brooklyn, NY, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the parish’s patronal feast.

Concelebrating with the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad was Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada, as well as: Archpriests Paul Ivanov (parish rector), Serge Ledkovsky (deputy rector of St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ), Vasily Yurina (parish cleric), and George Temidis (secretary of the diocesan administration), Priest Nenad Flora (cleric of St. Seraphim of Sarov Mission in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic), Protodeacon Leonid Roschko (cleric of St. Vladimir Memorial Church), and Deacon Fiodor Tulbur (parish cleric).

During the reading of the hours, Metropolitan Nicholas tonsured Leonid Volchok a reader, then ordained him a subdeacon. Following the Eucharistic Canon, Subdeacon Leonid was ordained to the diaconate for service in Holy Myrrhbearers Church.

Masterfully singing at Liturgy was the Pohvala Youth choir under the direction of Gregory Ivanov.

Before Holy Communion, Metropolitan Nicholas delivered a sermon on the life and labors of the Holy Myrrhbearers.

His Eminence greeted the clergy and faithful with the ongoing days of Pascha and their patronal feast. Diocesan gramotas were awarded to Elena Baranovsky and Tikhon Ivanov for their dedicated service to the Church and the building up of the parish.
