From Friday the 25th through Sunday the 27th of July, with the blessing of Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York, Metropolitan Jonah (Paffhausen) visited St. Mary of Egypt Church in Roswell (Atlanta), GA, where he officiated the divine services.
On Saturday, July 26, prior to the start of Divine Liturgy, His Eminence officiated the baptism of catechumens from the St. Katherine of Alexandria Mission in Dallas, GA. After the Great Entrance during Liturgy, he ordained Hierodeacon Rajden (Ashjazadeh) the priesthood for continued service at St. Mary of Egypt Church and Holy Elders of Optina Skete. After the Eucharistic Canon, Subdeacon Aaron Blanco was elevated to the diaconate for service at the developing St. Innocent of Alaska Mission in Canton, GA.
On Sunday, July 27, Metropolitan Jonah again celebrated Liturgy. During the hours, Constantine Dermendzhiev, Jesse Blanco, and Michael Koukarnia were tonsured readers, while Reader Matthew Campbell was ordained a subdeacon. During Liturgy, Fr. Aaron was ordained to the priesthood and Subdeacon Matthew was ordained to the diaconate for service at St. Innocent of Alaska Mission.
After the service, a bountiful luncheon was served for the hierarch, clergy, and faithful.
