On December 21, the 28th Sunday after Pentecost, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York paid an archpastoral visit to St. Andrew Stratelates Cathedral in St. Petersburg, FL, where he celebrated Divine Liturgy. Concelebrating with His Eminence were parish clerics Archpriest Stephen Zaremba, Priest Michael Criscella, and Deacon Stephen Romanchak. Praying in the altar was parish rector Archpriest Igor Chitikov.
On the eve, Metropolitan Nicholas awarded parish altar server Blaise Romanchak the right to wear the orarion.
The service was held under the aegis of the wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. The parish choir sang prayerfully. The cathedral was filled with worshippers, many of whom received Christ’s Holy Mysteries.
Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Metropolitan Nicholas delivered a sermon on the Sunday Gospel reading.
A festal reception was then held in the cathedral hall, where interaction between the hierarch, clergy, and faithful continued.
