On Wednesday the 14th and Thursday the 15th of January, His Eminence Nicholas, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY, where he officiated the divine services on the occasion of the patronal feast of the convent’s main St. Seraphim Cathedral.

Serving alongside His Eminence at the All-Night Vigil on Wednesday evening were: Archpriests Alexander Fedorowski (cathedral dean), Elias Gorsky (rector of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY), and Vasily Zelenyuk (rector of Our Lady "Unexpected Joy" Church in Staten Island, NY), Priest Artem Siss (convent cleric), and Protodeacons Serge Arlievsky (cleric of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City) and Alexey Pnev (convent cleric).

During the Polyeleos, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad led the singing of an akathist to Venerable Seraphim of Sarov.

Prior to the greeting of the Metropolitan and the start of the service on Thursday morning, the akathist was again read to St. Seraphim, followed by a blessing of water.

Concelebrating with His Eminence at Divine Liturgy were the above-mentioned clerics, with the exception of Fr. Serge Arlievsky, and joined by: Archpriest George Zelenin (rector of St. Michael Church in Wayne, NJ), Protodeacon Paul Drozdowski (cleric of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Howell, NJ), and Deacon Nicholas Ilyin (cleric of Holy Protection Church in Nyack).

Praying in church was the sisterhood of Holy Dormition Convent, led by Abbess Makaria, and a number of parishioners.

The choir sang beautifully under the direction of Alla Generalow.

A festal luncheon was held after the service in the main convent hall, during which interaction continued between the clergy, nuns, and pilgrims.
