On Tuesday evening, March 31, after the conclusion of Great Compline, His Grace Luke, Bishop of Syracuse, performed seven monastic tonsures at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY, including four into the Angelic (Lesser) Schema, and advancing three novices to the status of Rassophore Monk.

Rassophore Monk Vladimir (Stepanov), now Monk Seraphim, was tonsured in honor of the Venerable Seraphim of Vyritsa (+1949)

Three of Jordanville’s new monastic fathers are also currently enrolled in Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary: Rassophore Monk Peter (Zubrikov), 2nd year B.Th./undergraduate student, now Monk Patrick, was tonsured in honor of the Holy Hierarch Patrick, Bishop of Armagh, Enlightener of Ireland (~+461); Rassophore Monk Seraphim (Coverdill), 1st year M.Div./graduate student, now Monk Theophan, was tonsured in honor of the Holy Hierarch Theophan the Recluse (+1894); Rassophore Monk Nicholas (Charles), 1st year M.Div./graduate student, now Monk Hilarion, was tonsured in honor of the Holy Hieromartyr Hilarion, Archbishop of Vereya (+1929).

May Jordanville’s four new Monks Patrick, Seraphim, Theophan, and Hilarion each be saved in the Angelic Schema!

Novice Demetrios (Kanaris) is now Rassophore Monk Demetrios, Novice Chad (Suitor) is now Rassophore Monk Chad, and Novice Christos (Hayward) is now Rassophore Monk Christos.
