On Saturday, July 18, when the Holy Church commemorates the Finding of the Relics of Venerable Sergius, Abbot of Radonezh, Bishop Michael of Boston celebrated Divine Liturgy for the patronal feast of St. Sergius English Mission at the Synodal Headquarters in New York City.

Concelebrating with His Grace were: Abbot Zosimas (Krampis; parish rector), Priests Photie Erdman (rector of the Chapel of the Seven Holy Youths of Ephesus in Morris, NY) and Zachary Stoecker (parish cleric), Protodeacons Serge Arlievsky (cleric of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign) and Nicholas Ilyin (cleric of Holy Protection Church in Nyack, NY), and Deacons John Peters (cleric of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York City) and Matthew Keil (parish cleric).

The parish choir sang the divine service under the direction of Timothy Morrow. Many parishioners of the church, as well as believers from other churches in the city and neighboring states, gathered to honor the memory of the saint.

Virtually all the parishioners communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries on this festal day. His Grace and the clergy served a short moleben to St. Sergius before the icon of the saint.

Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Bishop Michael greeted the clergy and faithful with the feast.

At the end of the service, a festal meal was held, during which the clergy and faithful continued their interaction.
