On Tuesday, July 21, the feast of the Appearance of the Kazan Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America & New York celebrated Divine Liturgy in Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY.

Concelebrating with the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad was Bishop Theodosius of Manhattan, as well as: Archpriests Elias Gorsky (rector of Holy Protection Church in Nyack, NY), Vasily Zelenyuk (rector of Our Lady "Unexpected Joy" Church in Staten Island, NY), and Andrew Bazilevich (diocesan cleric), Priest Artem Siss (convent cleric), Protodeacons Serge Arlievsky (cleric of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City) and Alexey Pnev (convent cleric), and Deacon John Daily (cleric St.John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington, DC).

Singing at the service were the students and faculty of the Metropolitan Laurus Summer School of Liturgical Music, currently being held at the convent.

Before Holy Communion, Bishop Theodosius delivered a sermon on the feast.

Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Metropolitan Nicholas greeted all with the feast, and especially noted the efforts of the faculty and students of the Summer School of Liturgical Music to honor the musical traditions of the Russian Church Abroad and to enhance the singing in each participant’s respective parish.

A festal luncheon was held in the monastery refectory.
