Jackson, NJ: Celebrations in Honor of 1000th Anniversary of Repose of Prince Vladimir to take place at St. Vladimir Memorial Church

With the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, the annual St. Vladimir’s Day Celebrations will be held in St. Vladimir Memorial Church to the Millennium of the Baptism of Rus’ in Jackson, NJ on July 23-28. The actual feast day of the Holy Equal-of-the-Apostles Great Prince Vladimir is celebrated on July 28th, but as is customary in the Eastern American Diocese, a national celebration is held on the weekend closest to the feast.

This year, the celebrations will commemorate the 1000th anniversary of St. Vladimir’s blessed repose. Metropolitan Hilarion will lead the divine services on July 25-26, and will be co-served by Bishop Nicholas and diocesan clergy.

Schedule of Services

Thursday, July 23rd
6:00 PM: 
All-Night Vigil at St. Olga’s Church.

Friday, July 24th – Holy Equal-of-the-Apostles Great Princess Olga
9:30 AM: 
Greeting of His Grace, Bishop Nicholas, at St. Olga’s Church, followed by Hours & Divine Liturgy. Specially commemorated at the Liturgy will be the founders of the Memorial Church.

Saturday, July 25th
10:00 AM: 
Memorial Liturgy at Nativity of the Mother of God Church, followed by a procession to St. Vladimir Cemetery, where a panihida will be served for all of the departed.
6:00 PM: All-Night Vigil at St. Vladimir Memorial Church.

Sunday, July 26th – St. Vladimir’s Day Celebrations
7:00 AM: 
Early Liturgy (for volunteers and workers at the Celebrations).
9:30 AM: 
Greeting of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, followed by Hours & Divine Liturgy. A procession will be held after the Liturgy with the blessing of the water.

Monday, July 27th
5:00 PM: 
All-Night Vigil at St. Vladimir Memorial Church.

Tuesday, July 28th – Holy Equal-of-the-Apostles Great Prince Vladimir
9:30 AM: 
Greeting of His Grace, Bishop Nicholas, followed by Hours & Divine Liturgy.
