Boston, MA: Bishop Nicholas leads Transfiguration Services in Holy Epiphany Church

On Friday, August 21, His Grace Nicholas, Bishop of Manhattan, completed a three-day hierarchical visit to Holy Epiphany Church in Boston, MA. His Grace led the All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy for Transfiguration, co-served by parish clergy: rector Archpriest Victor Boldewskul, Priest Thomas Reske, Protodeacon Alexander Jarostchuk, and Deacons Victor Ganson and Alexander Kurenkov. The parishioners were likewise blessed with the presence of the wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God throughout the services. After His Grace’s sermon a procession was held and, as is customary for the feast, the fruit was blessed outside the church.

After the meal prepared by the parish sisterhood, some of the parish youth gathered at the rectory for a meeting with Bishop Nicholas. The main theme of the discussion was how the youth can serve the Church. After his talk with the youth, His Grace joined their parents, who were enjoying a lenten barbecue.

The following day, His Grace visited the sick and parishioners of the parish with the holy image of the Kursk Root Mother of God. In the evening, the Kursk Root Icon visited Holy Dormition Church in Cumberland, RI (OCA). The Icon was greeting by His Eminence Nikon, Archbishop of Boston (head of the OCA’s Albanian Archdiocese) and an akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos was served.
