On March 25, the Sunday of St. Mary of Egypt, the Sacrament of Holy Unction was performed by local clergy in Holy Archangel Michael Cathedral in Paterson, NJ.
The Sacrament was led by cathedral rector Archpriest George Zelenin, who was co-served by Archpriests George Konyev (rector of Three Saints Patriarchal Church in Garfield, NJ), Mark Burachek (rector of Our Lady of Kazan Church in Newark, NJ), and Vasiliy Raskovskiy (diocesan cleric), Priests Serge Ledkovsky (deputy rector of St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ) and Dmitri Don (rector of Sts. Cosmas & Damian Church in Passaic, NJ), and parish Deacon Andrei Logvinenko.
Upon completion of the Sacrament, Fr. George addressed his brother clergy, thanking them for their joint prayers. He also wished all of the faithful a salvific remainder of Great Lent, reminding them of the importance of receiving Christ’s Holy Mysteries at the next Divine Liturgy after Unction, and on Pascha itself.
