Last week, on Friday, June 12, Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan celebrated Divine Liturgy in St. Sergius Church at the Synodal Headquarters in New York City. Abbot Zosimas (Krampis), rector of the English Mission, sang on the kliros.
On Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th of June, the First Sunday after Pentecost, of All Saints, Bishop Nicholas served the All-Night Vigil and celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign. Concelebrating with His Grace were Archpriest Mark Burachek (rector of Our Lady of Kazan Church in Newark, NJ), cathedral Protodeacon Nicolas Mokhoff, and Deacon Nicholas Ilyin (cleric of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY). Praying in the altar was Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad.
Upon completion of Liturgy, His Grace thanked the Metropolitan and the clergy for their prayers, and congratulated all of the faithful praying at home with the feast of All Saints, when Orthodox Christian honors his Heavenly patron and celebrates his namesday.
Bishop Nicholas called on the faithful to thank God, the Mother of God, their guardian angels, and their Heavenly patrons, and to always turn to them in their prayers. He also reminded them that the following day would mark the beginning of the Apostles’ Fast.
