On Tuesday, July 28, the feast of the Holy Equal-of-the-Apostles Great Prince Vladimir, Bishop Luke of Syracuse celebrated Divine Liturgy in the main cathedral of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY. Concelebrating with His Grace were monastery and visiting clergy: Archimandrite Nektarios (Harding), Archpriest Boris Henderson (cleric of the Western American Diocese), Abbot Theophylact (Clapper-DeWell), Protodeacons Vladimir Barros and Peter Markevich, and Deacon Andrei Psarev.
After the Eucharistic Canon, the vicar of the Eastern American Diocese ordained Subdeacon Paul Kentigern Siewers to the diaconate. The newly ordained Deacon Paul will fulfill his service at St. John the Wonderworker Mission in Lewisburg, PA.
Upon completion of Liturgy, Bishop Luke delivered a sermon on the life and apostolic feats of St. Vladimir, and congratulated Fr. Paul on his ordination, wishing him God’s speedy aid in his diaconal service to the church.
A festal luncheon was served in the monastery refectory.
