On May 23, the Sunday of the Paralytic, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Luke of Syracuse paid an archpastoral visit to St. Andrew Stratelates Cathedral in St. Petersburg, FL.
Concelebrating with His Grace at Divine Liturgy were: parish rector Archpriest Igor Chitikov, parish cleric Archpriest Stephen Romanchak, Archpriest Stephen Zaremba (rector of St. Catherine Mission in Clearwater, FL), Priest Michael Criscella (cleric of St. Sophia Mission in Kissimmee, FL), and parish clerics Protodeacon Igor Tarasov and Deacon Stephan Romanchak.
The parish choir sang prayerfully. The cathedral was filled with worshippers, many of whom received Christ’s Holy Mysteries.
Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Bishop Luke delivered a sermon on the topic of the Sunday Gospel reading. Afterward, His Grace congratulated Fr. Igor, who celebrated the 30th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. In addition, on behalf of Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York, Bishop Luke congratulated Archpriest Stephan Romanchak on the 45th anniversary of his ordination, and presented him with a Synodal gramota.
A festal reception was then held in the cathedral hall, where interaction continued.
