Stafford, VA: Myrrh-Streaming Hawaiian Icon visits Holy Assumption Church
On Tuesday afternoon, August 31, the myrrh-streaming Hawaiian-Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, accompanied to the monastery by her guardian, Deacon Nectarios Yangson, visited Holy Assumption Church in Stafford, VA.
In a church filled with worshippers, parish rector Priest John Trepatschko served a moleben and Akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos. After the service, the faithful approached and were anointed with holy myrrh from the icon.
The icon then departed for its visit to neighboring St. Herman of Alaska Church.
