Jackson, NJ: "Softener of Evil Hearts" Icon visits St. Vladimir Memorial Church

On Tuesday, December 14, the myrrh-streaming Icon of the Mother of God "Softener of Evil Hearts," currently traveling throughout the Eastern American Diocese, visited St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ.

Archpriest Serge Ledkovsky, the church’s deputy rector, served the moleben and akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos.

Parishioners filled the church, and upon conclusion of the service, all were anointed with holy myrrh from the wonderworking image of the Mother of God.

Fr. Serge addressed the faithful with a brief greeting, in which he thanked the Lord and His Most Pure Mother for the grace of the myrrh-streaming icon’s visit; the dean of New Jersey, Archpriest Serge Lukianov, for organizing the visitation of the icon throughout the Diocese; and the icon’s guardian, Sergei Fomin, for his labors in traveling with the icon around the world for the joy and consolation of Orthodox Christians everywhere.
