On May 15, the 4th Sunday of Pascha, of the Paralytic, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City. Concelebrating with His Eminence were: Archpriest Andrei Sommer (cathedral dean), Protodeacon Nicolas Mokhoff (cathedral cleric), and Hierodeacon Panteleimon (Jigalin; diocesan cleric).
Singing at the service was the Synodal choir under the direction of Vadim S. Gan.
Cathedral parishioners who had come to pray at the service communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries.
Upon completion of Liturgy, Archbishop Gabriel greeted those who had gathered with the ongoing feast of Pascha, and addressed them with a sermon on the feast ‒ about the healing of the paralytic. His Eminence called on the faithful to think about their spiritual lives, to observe God’s commandments, and live in the fear of God, in order to save their souls for eternity.
The clergy and faithful then gathered in the cathedral hall for the traditional luncheon.
