On Thursday, June 2, the great feast of the Ascension of the Lord, the Monastery of the Glorious Ascension in Resaca, GA celebrated its patronal feast day. Monastery abbot Archimandrite Maximos (Weimar) celebrated the festal Divine Liturgy, co-served by Priest Benedict Simpson, Priest Justinian Burnett and Deacon Laurence Powell (monastery clerics).

Deputy abbot Hieromonk Vasileios (Willard) directed the choir.

Fr. Maximos delivered a homily on the importance of the Ascension of our Lord for our salvation. Upon conclusion of Liturgy, he greeted the monastery brethren and attendees with the feast.

After the service, all in attendance enjoyed a buffet-style luncheon and a time of communal fellowship.
