On Friday, February 14, the clergy and parishioners of Our Lady of Pochaev Church in North Port, FL experienced Paschal joy. After years of prayer, contemplation, and fundraising, the parish was able to successfully purchase land and buildings for further expansion.

After signing the necessary documents, the clergy, led by parish rector Archimandrite Stefan (Khilchuk) served a Thanksgiving Moleben in the future church premises. The entire property was then sanctified with Holy Water.

The community of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God was established in December 2020 in North Port. The idea, name, and blessing for the establishment of parish life were given by the ever-memorable Metropolitan Hilarion (Kapral; +2022), First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad. The first Divine Liturgy in the temporary church premises took place on December 17, 2020, on the feast of the Holy Great Martyr Barbara.
