New York City: On Myrrhbearers Sunday, Metropolitan Hilarion leads Divine Services in Synodal Cathedral of the Sign

On Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th of April, the Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing Women, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City, co-served by Synodal clergy. During the reading of the Hours, Paul Grabbe – grandson of Bishop Gregory (Grabbe), once Bishop of Washington, vicar of the Eastern American Diocese – was tonsured a reader and ordained a subdeacon.

Singing the divine service was the Hierarchal Choir, under the direction of Peter Fekula; upon completion of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Hilarion congratulated Subdeacon Paul and his relatives. A bountiful luncheon was then offered in the Synodal hall.
