On October 22, the Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the 7th Ecumenical Council, Holy Fathers Church in New York City celebrated its patronal feast day. Leading the divine services for the occasion was His Grace, Eastern American Diocese vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan.
At the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Nicholas was co-served by parish rector Archpriest Alexander Botschagow and Protodeacons Dimitri Temidis (cleric of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY), Nathan Mousselli (cleric of St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ).
Parishioners gathered together to mark the feast, and many communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries.
Upon completion of Liturgy, Bishop Nicholas addressed the faithful with a sermon on the lasting spiritual legacy of the Holy Fathers of the Ecumenical Councils, and called on believers to live a life of true prayer and repentance, the key to being champions of Orthodox doctrine.
After the service, a bountiful luncheon was served by the sisterhood in the parish hall.
