On Saturday, February 24, the Great Lenten services were held at the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City.
Hours were read and Divine Liturgy celebrated for the Saturday of the Holy Great-Martyr Theodore Tyro, officiated by Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, co-served by Synodal clergy. The Synodal choir sang Liturgy under the direction of Peter Fekula. Upon conclusion of the service, His Grace addressed the gathered faithful with a sermon about the martyric death and miraculous appearance of St. Theodore.
That evening, Bishop Nicholas served a panihida for long-time cathedral warden Prince Vladimir Kirillovich Galitzine.
On Saturday evening, All-Night Vigil for the Sunday of Orthodoxy was led by Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad. Co-serving with His Eminence were Bishop Nicholas and cathedral clergy.
