On Wednesday, March 7, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York paid an archpastoral visit to the new premises of the Monastery of St. Dionysios the Areopagite in St. James, NY. His Eminence met and spoke with the brethren, after which he served a moleben and blessed the new monastery building.
Joined by monastery abbot Archimandrite Maximos (Weimar), the brethren, and Hieromonk Tikhon (Gayfudinov; accompanying him), the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad prayed for the brotherhood, and asked God to bless their endeavor. He offered words of advice and encouragement to the monastics in their labor of prayer for the Church and the whole world.
A light lenten repast was then served. The monastery brotherhood expressed their sincere gratitude to the Metropolitan for braving the severe snowstorm to come and bless their new home.
