On March 11, the Sunday of the Cross, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan led the Sacrament of Holy Unction in Holy Myrrhbearers Church in Brooklyn, NY.
His Grace was co-served by Archpriest Alexander Belya (dean of New York City), Abbot Vladimir (Zgoba; rector of "Unexpected Joy" Church on Staten Island, NY), Archpriest George Zelenin (rector of Holy Archangel Michael Cathedral in Paterson, NJ), Vasiliy Raskovskiy (diocesan cleric), Paul Ivanov (parish rector), and Priests Serge Ledkovsky (deputy rector of St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ) and Priest Nikolai Gulin (cleric of St. Stephen Cathedral OCA in Philadelphia, PA)
Upon completion of the Sacrament, Bishop Nicholas greeted Fr. Paul, thanking him for his invitation to lead the service, and thanked all of the clergy for their joint prayers. His Grace also wished all of the faithful a salvific remainder of Great Lent, reminding them of the importance of receiving Christ’s Holy Mysteries at the next Divine Liturgy after Unction, and on Pascha itself.
