On Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th of May – the great feast of Holy Pentecost – His Grace, Bishop Jerome, paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Trinity Church in Vineland NJ, where he led the divine services for the parish’s patronal feast day.
His Grace led the All-Night Vigil, co-served by parish rector Archpriest Liubo Milosevich and Deacon Alexey Pnev (cleric of the New Kursk Root Hermitage in Mahopac, NY, who accompanied the hierarch). Parish Deacon Serge Ohotin sang in the choir. The following morning, Bishop Jerome celebrated Divine Liturgy, co-served by Fr. Liubo and Fr. Serge, as well as by Priest Eugene Solodky.
The church was filled to capacity for Liturgy, and the choir sang very sweetly and melodiously at both services.
His Grace delivered two sermons: in Russian, on the words of the Epistle reading, "How is it that we had heard [the Apostles preaching] each in our own language?"; and in English, on the words of the Gospel about "Living Water" (which symbolizes the action of the Holy Spirit).
The Kneeling Vespers were celebrated without abbreviation, with Bishop Jerome reading the first set of prayers, Fr. Liubo the second set, and Fr. Eugene the third.
Following the services, a bountiful luncheon was served in the parish hall behind the church, prepared with skill and love by the church sisterhood. There, the faithful and clergy continued their interactions, and shared many memories.
